La Madrugada blend 2020
Regular price €26,90La Madrugada is the brainchild of four friends: Bob, Johan, Olivier and Tom, who started their project in the high Uco Valley in Argentina in 2017. A micro-project of 0.5 hectares, where they make their dream come true, making their own wine.
In plain sight, this wine betrays its warm and Southern origin. With its very intense cherry red color and thick, colored tears where even hints of purple show the warmth and ripeness of the fruit. The nose spoils you with many different aromas and aroma groups, but especially the young, crispy black fruit with hints of blackberries, blueberries, plum, amarena cherry and cherries on alcohol. After rolling the wine, this blend shows its deeper layers with a soft spicy side of white pepper but also cedar wood and ripe red pointed pepper. In the mouth, this wine is immediately firm, supported by a firm tannin structure. The slightly higher percentage in alcohol is finely countered by the acids, so that we experience a very nice harmony between all these elements. The slightly longer finish testifies to quality and the potential for La Madrugada in the future. Serve this wine at 16°C in your finest glassware, preferably elegant and tulip-shaped. This wine calls for robust preparations and complexity on the plate, my spontaneous idea with this fine glass are braised veal cheeks, slowly cooked and combined with young, sweet carrots and a frothy green pepper gravy that additionally support the spiciness of the wine. Despite its young vintage, this wine can already be enjoyed now, but with some cellar aging this wine will melt even more and show greater harmony. Drink within 7 years.
