Marc & Torsten prove with this sauvignon blanc that Germany is more than just Riesling. The vineyards for the white wines are planted in the municipality of Leutesdorf, the oldest and largest wine village in the Mittelrhein. The vines themselves stand on impressive slopes with a subsoil of calcareous loess and slate. The river 'Rhine' provides natural tempering. If it gets too hot in the summer, or too cool in the winter and spring, the grapes can still ripen evenly and slowly, with a complex build-up of flavors and aromas. When we put our nose into the glass we perceive scents of orchids, basil and granny smith. In the mouth, the attack is a bit fuller with ripe apple, mint and a floral undertone. In the aftertaste you notice the perfect balance between acidity and complexity that culminates in a fantastic wine that you must have tasted. This world-class sauvignon blanc is a worthy alternative to other great sauvignon wines from classic French regions.
