Pombal do Vesuvio Red 2023

Quinta do Vesúvio is one of the most legendary estates in the Douro Valley. Tucked away in the unspoiled landscape of the Douro Superior, the estate enjoys worldwide fame for its powerful Vintage Ports as well as its still wines under the Douro DOC.

Pombal do Vesúvio is the result of a careful selection of grapes from the best slopes surrounding the old dovecote (pombal) at the heart of the estate. These terraces have been primarily planted with Touriga Nacional since 2000. The blend is further enriched with Touriga Franca, along with a small percentage of Tinta Amarela and Alicante Bouschet from lower-lying plots.

The wine undergoes gentle vinification and matures for ten months in French oak barrels. The result is a powerful Douro red with dark fruit aromas, spicy complexity and fine structure, with remarkable freshness and juicy acidity. Ideal for drinking now, but also well-suited for a few years of cellaring.
