Smith Woodhouse Late Bottled Vintage Port 2015

Smith Woodhouse is a small-scale and authentic port house that has stood for quality and authenticity for generations. This Late Bottled Vintage Port first matures for four years in small oak barrels, then rests for at least six more years in the bottle—a traditional method that ensures an exceptionally rich and complex tasting experience.

The grapes come from the famous Quinta da Madalena vineyard in the Rio Torto valley of the Douro. Here, the best quality Touriga Franca and Touriga Nacional are selected, complemented by old field blends that add extra character and finesse.

In the glass, this LBV shows a deep ruby red color with dazzling purple highlights. The aroma is alluring and layered: think soft rose petals, floral orange blossom, juicy black cherries, red berries, and a hint of tropical mango. On the palate, it feels silky smooth, with a perfect balance of power and elegance, a long finish, and a delightful texture that invites you to pour a second glass.

This port pairs excellently with rich cheeses like Stilton or Roquefort, dark chocolate, or a surprising dessert. Serve lightly chilled, decant briefly, and enjoy.
