Bodega Chacra
Chacra was founded in 2004 by Piero Incisa della Rocchetta with the aim of finding the most uninhibited expression of the climate, microclimate and territory of Mainqué in the Río Negro region of Patagonia. Respecting the environment by following biodynamic and organic principles, Piero strives to make wines that are pure, clean, delicate and aromatic with a strong minerality.
In Patagonia, a "chacra" is a special piece of land dedicated to pomology (arboreal farming). At the same time, chakras are vital energy centers that give us the ability to connect with the entire universe, with everything that lives and vibrates.
Río Negro is a surprisingly perfect place for Pinot Noir. In the middle of Patagonia, temperatures are sometimes high, but the strong wind coming from the Andes cools the vines. Nighttime temperatures drop by as much as 40 degrees, preserving the vital acidity and aromatic qualities of a good pinot noir.
