Monteberg chardonnay EIK 2022

The latest creation from the Belgian wine estate Monteberg in Dranouter, the cuvée chardonnay EIK, shows the potential of wood-matured and complex white wines in the region. This chardonnay comes from a stricter selection of grapes, grown with lower yields to survive the wood maturation in new oak. When tasting the wine, the aromas of ripe peach and fresh lemon come to you, complemented by hints of brioche and a touch of smokiness, which testify to the oak maturation. In the mouth, this chardonnay is full and rich, while the lively acidity provides a perfect balance. The finish is long and refined, with an elegant retro from the oak barrels.
