Assailly Millésimé 2013 blanc de blancs
Regular price €59,902012 was an absolute top year in Champagne. The Assailly house decided to make a one-year Champagne. The Chardonnay grapes are hand-picked from vineyards that are 70 years old and only come from the plot that is almost in the center of Avize. An upbringing in large oak foeders and the low dose of residual sugar (3 gr/l), typical of the house style, complete this 'millésimé'. When you smell it you get an expression of grilled almonds, butter, light candied fruit, vanilla and so much more. In the mouth a mouth-filling structure with a fine mineral aftertaste and again that light almond touch in the final, rounded off with elegant acids. This is sheer madness. We have tasted a lot in our lives, but this topper defies all imagination. When they say "A good glass of Champagne keeps the doctor away" it is certainly the case with this Champagne. health!
