Château de Bioul is a leading Belgian wine estate in Wallonia, located in the Viroin valley, in the province of Namur. Since 2015, the estate has been committed to sustainable and ecological viticulture, with a strong focus on terroir expression and biodiversity. In 2020, the estate obtained its organic certification, an important milestone in their environmentally conscious approach.
The vineyards of Château de Bioul are planted with interspecific (hybrid) grape varieties, which are naturally resistant to fungal diseases. This minimizes the use of pesticides and leaves the soil, water and local fauna untouched. This approach not only results in healthy grapes, but also contributes to the long-term quality of the landscape.
In addition to organic principles, the domain also embraces biodynamic practices. By working according to natural and cosmic cycles, Château de Bioul strives for a living, vital soil and a harmonious balance between plant, environment and man. This translates into wines with depth and an authentic reflection of their origin.
The vinification is carried out with careful precision, largely in stainless steel and egg-shaped concrete vats. This choice allows to preserve the natural expression of the fruit while developing complexity and finesse in the wine.
Each Château de Bioul cuvée is linked to a specific vineyard, allowing the unique characteristics of each piece of terroir to shine through. Wines such as Batte de la Reine , Terre Charlot and Plate Pierre all proudly carry the character of their origins.
