Domaine Terres de Velle is located in the heart of the Côte de Beaune, in the commune of Auxey-Duresses. Typical for small Burgundian domains is the patchwork of pieces of vineyards over different municipalities and lieux-dits. In normal vintages, the estate produces around 35,000 bottles on its 7 hectares of vineyards.
After purchasing their building and the 7 hectares of vineyards in 2009, Sophie & Fabrice have done a lot of work in the 50 year old vineyards. The vineyards are all located in prime locations in the Côte de Beaune and have been cultivated since 2009 without any use of pesticides and herbicides. The domain works practically biologically, but has not yet been certified by a control body.
Sophie & Fabrice Laronze brought together their experience in the wine world in 2009 and established their domain on 'Terres de Velle' on the old water mill of the small river 'Velle'. In contrast to other domains in Burgundy where the current owners are often heirs of several generations of winemakers, Sophie & Fabrice are first generation winemakers of this domain. In about 10 years, this energetic and passionate couple has already charmed many lovers of the better 'Burgundy work', just like us...
