Penafiel Mironia Black Edition 2018
Regular price €51,40The Black Edition of Bodegas Peñafiel is the showpiece of this domain. This wine comes from one vineyard and consists of 100% tempranillo or tinto. The grapes are picked manually and placed in small baskets of 20 kg. These are carefully selected upon arrival at the domain. They are then gently pressed and the wine undergoes malolactic fermentation in 225 liter barrels. Afterwards, the wine is aged for 12 months in American and French oak barrels. The wine is very intensely dark colored and the nose gives us hints of violet and ripe cherries. When tasting, the cherry comes back, but especially the spicy character with cloves, a light hint of cinnamon and cocoa. In the aftertaste, the tannins are well present and perfectly balanced with the acids. This wine keeps perfectly, but when drunk young, we recommend serving it in a wide glass. This wine is very limited, only 36 bottles for the whole of Belgium. We are therefore rightly proud to be able to present this to you! health!
