Zsirai is a beautiful, young wine estate in Hungary, with vineyards in different regions, led by sisters Petra and Kata, who, in addition to famous sweet aszú wines, also produce dry furmint and hárslevelű. This wine comes from their vineyards in Somló, an interesting region in the Central Western part of Hungary on volcanic soil. This complex and powerful white wine is made from the local 'juhfark' grape variety, also known as the sheep's tail due to the special shape of the grapes. This wine is fermented partly in stainless steel and partly in oak barrels and therefore provides a lot of richness with lasting freshness and finesse. Slightly smoky aromas, alternating with floral notes and ripe white fruit predominate. This wine can be used very well with richer and complex dishes or even preparations with white/pink meat. Preferably decanter this wine in advance to discover the full potential of this wine. Hello!
