At the Toth Ferenc wine estate everything started with the father of the current winemaker, Katalin. He was born in 1939 and now has more than 60 harvest years to his name. At the age of 16 he made his first Bikavér, a powerful red wine also known in Hungary as bull's blood. Due to the communist regime, he had to temporarily put aside his passion for wine and was forced to work in the construction sector. In 1983 he was finally able to resume his dream and started his own wine estate together with his wife Marika. In 2012, Ferenc was named winemaker of the year in Eger. In less than 50 years, his domain has become a permanent fixture in the region. With Katalin at the helm, the wine estate has a promising future.
