This white Saint-Joseph from Domain Bernard Gripa comes from the single vineyard 'Le Berceau', where only Marsanne grapes are used. These vines, planted in 1920, are located on the flanks of the hamlet of Tournon. The grapes are picked manually and a strict selection is carried out to use only the best grapes for this cuvée. After harvest, the wine is matured for 50% in 300-liter barrels, 30% in 250-liter barrels and 20% in stainless steel cuves 'sur lies', the latter method helping to preserve the fine acidity. The result is a deep gold-colored wine with rich aromas of white flowers, acacia honey and a hint of fresh ginger in the nose. In the mouth the wine offers a beautiful balance between ripe yellow fruit, floral notes and some citrus. The aftertaste is long and beautifully balanced with fine acidity. For the best experience, it is recommended to serve the wine in a wide wine glass and not too cold, so that its complexity can be fully appreciated.
