Founded in 2004 by Piero Incisa della Rocchetta, Bodegas Chacra works entirely according to biodynamic and organic principles to capture the purest expression of the Patagonian terroir. Old, ungrafted pinot noir vines are tended by hand, and vinification is carried out with minimal intervention to preserve elegance, finesse, and minerality.

Cincuenta y Cinco comes from pinot noir vines planted in 1955, rooted in pebble-rich soils of ancient riverbeds. As with all vineyards at Chacra, these vines are ungrafted and sourced from massal selection. Fermentation takes place with whole clusters at low temperatures in cement tanks, to fully preserve the wine’s floral aromatics.

Ageing is split equally between cement and French oak barrels (second to fourth use) over 11 months. The wine is organic, biodynamic, natural, and unfiltered.

On the nose and palate, Cincuenta y Cinco shows remarkable tension and refinement, with aromas of dried strawberry, bilberry, and cherry, underpinned by subtle earthy notes. The texture is silky yet driven by an energetic core, leading into a long, elegant finish.
