Korta Katarina Winemakers Selection 2012

This Winemakers Selection is a prime example of how powerful red wine should taste. All grapes are picked manually and come from vineyards an average of 35 years old. The vineyards are located in Orebić, the heart of this wine estate. The climate is ideal and the cooling wind from the clear Adriatic sea provides the perfect conditions that these plavac mali grapes need. A very strict selection is made and only the best grapes are used for this cuvée. In the nose we are spoiled with scents of figs, fresh bread and green pepper. When tasting, we have date, fig and a long finish with a slightly spicy undertone. The tannins are well present, but very nicely balanced. We recommend decanting this wine for about 15 minutes before enjoying. Only 1000 bottles are made each year. health!
