Gabriëlskloof Elodie chenin blanc 2022

Very large chenin blanc, from old vineyards in Swartland. The Landscape series from Gabrielskloof all come from absolute top locations in South Africa of old vineyards. 'Elodie' is the showpiece of the chenin blanc grape in this series. The spontaneous fermentation of this chenin blanc took place after pressing the entire bunches in amphorae (clay jugs).

This chenin blanc starts very tight in the beginning, in the middle it opens very full and layered with intense aromas of ripe quince, kumquat and fresh almond. This wine calls for fine glassware and some extra oxygen in a carafe.
