Giulia Monteleone Etna Bianco 2023
Regular price €21,90This Etna Bianco, made exclusively from the Carricante grape, is a composition of grapes from different vineyards. The majority of the grapes come from vineyards on the east side, where the soil is rich in volcanic sand and lava rock. A smaller part comes from vineyards on the north side, which are also characterized by volcanic rock but with an addition of clay. Due to a strict selection, in which only 6 hectoliters per hectare are harvested, even this entry-level wine reaches an exceptionally high quality. The manual harvest takes place in the early morning hours, after which the grapes are carefully pressed for 48 hours. The juice then undergoes a fermentation process in stainless steel vats for 6 months, with weekly stirring of the must (bâtonnage). Additional maturation in the bottle for 6 months follows.
This wine is characterized by great finesse. On the nose it opens with scents of acacia flowers and ripe stone fruit. The palate offers notes of ripe citrus fruits, peach and apricot, supported by very fine acidity and a perfect balance. It is recommended to serve this wine in its youth in a wider glass to fully enjoy its richness and complexity. Hello!
