Nittardi Ad Astra 2019

Ad Astra is the little brother of the 'Nectar Dei', the ultra-premium wine from the house Nittardi. Like the Nectar Dei, the grapes for this wine grow on the sun-drenched hills of the Southern Maremma and are distinctive in its blend of Sangiovese and Bordelese grape varieties. Ad Astra comes from the Latin phrase 'Per Aspere Ad Astra' , a rough road leads to the stars. An expression that, according to the family, also applies to great wines, because greatness in the glass requires a lot of hard work and perseverance in the vineyards.

This wine shows itself very intense and complex on the nose with aromas of ripe red fruits and fresh dark fruits, berries and plum with some hints of sweet spices. In the mouth, the wine starts with a lot of juicy fruit and further shows itself in a distinguished and powerful way. After winemaking, this wine matures for 12 months in French oak. All the wines of the Nittardi domain are from organic farming.
