Ferenc Toth Egri Csillag 2022
Regular price €10,50 Sale price €9,50At the Toth Ferenc wine estate everything started with Katalin's father, who was born in 1939 and made his first Bikavér at the age of 16. After being forced to work in the construction sector under the communist regime, he started their own wine estate with his wife Marika in 1983. In 2012 he was named winemaker of the year in Eger, and the estate has since become an established name in the region under Katalin's leadership.
Egri Csillag is the counterpart of the well-known Egri Bikavér (Hungarian bull's blood). This white wine is made from four important, authentic grape varieties from the region: királyleányka, hárslevelű, olaszrizling and riesling. The wine is fresh and elegant, with complex notes of ripe fruit and floral-spicy accents. Part of the wine is fermented in wooden barrels and part in stainless steel, to emphasize both freshness and layering in the end result.
